Two problems with Knoppix 5.01

Hello,

Today I downloaded Knoppix 5.01 in order to try out this system. I have two problems:

1.
My graphical card, being the Hercules 3D Prophet 9500 Pro, does not seem to be recognized properly as I only have two
resolutions to choose from, namely 640x480 and 800x600. My card and screen supports resolutions up to 1280x1024. I use
1024x768.

2.
I am unable to get the wireless internet working. I use a router and a PCI wireless network card, both from the same
manufacturer being SMC. As security I use both WAP and mac address recognition.

I did discover a programme named KWIFI. It did scan some networks in my neigbourhood. At first it did scan my network
but somehow I did not have the feeling that I could select it. Later, during another scan it did not see my network at
all. In the end I could not launch KWIFI. All it did was showing a dancing icon, and that was all.

Given the wireless network hardware and mode of security that I use, what are the exact steps to be taken in order to
get wireless internet working under Knoppix 5.01?

I was well aware of that but the reason I posted in here was because it was the only newsgroup I found that was devoted
to Knoppix. So in this matter I thought my message was well on-topic in here.

So if you know the answers to my questions I would be very grateful.
